About us
My name is Myriam Etienne, and I have always been a nurturer at heart. For 30 years, I worked as an early childhood educator, providing loving care to families in my community. That work taught me compassion, kindness, patience, and empathy—qualities that now guide me in my calling as an End-of-Life Doula.

In 2024, I founded Ocean of Life to raise awareness and provide emotional support for individuals and their families during life’s final chapter. Just as birth is a sacred beginning, I believe death can also be embraced as a meaningful transition—a time of peace, love, and even celebration.

My role is to walk alongside those nearing the end of life, helping them and their loved ones make choices that bring comfort, dignity, and conscious presence to this tender journey.

I am trained as a Death Doula through the University of Vermont and I am constantly undergoing new training from organizations such as INELDA and Going with Grace. In addition to my extensive training; I'm a volunteer for MJHS, where I provide a soothing presence and comfort to patients who are in palliative and hospice care.

Mission
My mission is to create a gentle and peaceful space where those at the end of life feel safe, seen, and heard. I strive to bring ease and comfort, offering emotional support not only to the dying but also to their loved ones—holding space for honest feelings, tender connection, and meaningful expression.
Vision
I envision a world where the end of life is embraced with peace and dignity, and where no one walks that journey alone. In this vision, every person feels safe to express themselves fully, families are gently supported through both caregiving and grief, and love becomes the thread that carries us through the final chapter of life.
My role is to nurture spaces of tenderness and calm, encouraging open conversations around death, and offering presence, compassion, and care for all who walk this path.
